Evangelistic FT 7: The Existential Problem of Suffering and Evil

Date: Tuesday, 9 March, 2010
Time: 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Venue: LT 26, NUS Faculty of Science
Theme: Suffering and Evil
Speakers: LT Jeyachandran

Ravi Zacharias, President of an international Christian ministry that has spoken at many top universities describes the problem of suffering and evil as the question most commonly asked by skeptics. Indeed rightly so. Why believe in a God who appears to be unable to create and sustain a perfect universe? How can God be good, when evil exists everywhere? If there is a God, does He even bother?

Many of us find it hard to believe in the existence of a God who is good and loving when we look around us and everyday we hear stories of war and violence, deaths, rape, disasters, genocides and crises. Some of us protest because we find it far too risky to believe in a God who doesn't appear to have a sense of justice. Even for those who believe, we struggle to understand this mystery. Indeed, the problem of evil is and should be a question that every person must ask.

Varsity Christian Fellowship invites all to join us on this evening as we journey together to find out more about the painful and important question of suffering and evil.
